Last Saturday it was time for the first edition of the South District Day to celebrate the launch of the Elektropedia website:
www.redbullelektropedia.be
From noon till the evening the Walpoortstraat was transformed into
this street is electronic with expo pop-ups, in-store deejay sets and a discount in the Mahy circus for the Sephan Vanfleteren exhibition.
At 8pm people of the Belgium electronic scene gathered at the back of the Vooruit for an award ceremony.
From the ceremony on the ground we walked on water... on a boat. So, yes this means, the boat was electronic too! During this 2 hour boat trip I saw deejays, organizers of events, people from the radio, ...
Some asked me how I was related to the music business, as they all were an important ingredient to this life.. but I was just .. euh .. I .. I just like music. The food catering on the boat is worth mentioning. It was organised by a well-known restaurant in Gent:
Coeur dArtichaut and they offered delicious appetizers and deserts!
So back in the Vooruit I stayed a little longer for the next electronic thing.. the beat is electronic.. known as the official launch party for Elektropedia. The line-up was maybe totally not my cup of tea, but a lot of legendary Belgian deejays and musicians, from the past to present were on it. And I just wanted to see shortly the live performance of the Confetti's. Do you remember them? This is the sound of .. After 3 songs their show was over, the party continued, but I went to sleep. I didn't felt electronic anymore..
