Jewelry, paintings, furniture design,... yes I'm talking about SO ON concept / so on collective. The designers of this collective opened their pop-up shop last Saturday in Antwerp and it's so worth it to bring them a visit or at least show them your love over here!!

Hello magazine!!
*smile*smile* I'm in a magazine!! Ok, the magazine has not been distributed, it was a limited magazine for all the participants of the workshop 'fashion-shoot'. The CVB gave it to us on the opening of the expo last Friday night in Antwerp. Distributed or not... I like it!!
The expo itself is a must go if you are into fashion photography. Besides the workshop pictures there is an awesome exhibition of Peter Lindbergh, a world renowned fashion photographer and the Belgian photographer Frank Philippi, who died last year.

De invasie / the invasion, not a war battle, just a platform for designers from Belgium and The Netherlands. Besides a webshop the organisers invade a city with their warriors. 70 young talents have been selected by a jury (curators, journalists, stylists,...).
Fashion, interior, jewelry, graphic design, photograpy, music and even short film are the weapons of the creative warriors. The art center Buda in Kortrijk was the place slash battlefield to be!

My friends who are really into music, will say 'vinyl was never gone'. Gone or not, it's back! And I have the coolest LP collection ever, the 'Por Tables' set...
Por tables is a collaboration of Ella Doran, a homewear designer and Kavel Rafferty an illustrator. This vintage-inspired vinyl pop art tableware collection will make everyone sing at the table! Ella and Kavel used portable record players to create this ab fab coasters.

Figures and Facts!
On going: Figures and Facts 2010. 3 - 4 and 5 December, 24 locations (galleries, museums, art organisations and private art spaces) are co-operating to this event to highlight the field of visual art in Ghent (view program).
At the heart of the Figures and Facts festival, Pieterjan Ginckels opens S.P.A.M. Office, his spam archiving firm, for the first time. Three days long, five hired employees will check emails, detect spam, print and prepare for a proofread and finally archive the letters.
Please forward all your spam email (or other unwanted messages, the S.P.A.M. Officers will decide) to s-p-a-m@live.com, and come watch the office at work on December 3, 4 and 5.

In the mix: Urban Outfitters featuring my portraits
Woop Woop, this is the sound of the police. Ah no, this was the concert I've been to on Friday. KRS One was in the house and showed us what old school hip hop was.. woop woop!
On Saturday I've been to Antwerp and visited the Urban Outfitters shop. This American retailer with a boutique approach loves using their space for expositions. A while ago they shout out they were looking for photographs and guess what.. yes starting from tomorrow I can show some of my portraits on the second floor.. woop woop!
To all you fashion chickens and shopaholics, enter the empire of unique vintage, hip or indie clothing and visit the second floor of the Urban Outfitters shop on the Meir in Antwerp during the coming weeks!!

This Street is...
Last year this street was elektronic, this year this street is .. for everyone!! Kids and adults, black and white, purple and pink... the 2010 edition will serve you all folk!
The entire South District around the Walpoortstraat will be the place to be next Saturday! Bike, car, tram 21&22, busses, your feet, ... many ways to get there.
Let's take a brief look at the program:
The Marimain booth and the Mahy stage will be a little Mecca for music lovers. Dj's such as Studio Brussels morning guy Thomas De Soete, rock chick Katia Vlerick, Red D and many more will rock the turntables. You can also catch a glimp of some live acts: Arquettes and the jazzy Backback.
Some pleasure for your eyes will be exhibited in the space of the formal Bernard Gavilan shop. Bue the warrior, a Belgian street artist will show his graffiti work and if you feel an arty farty mood coming up, you can try it yourself!
Besides the music and art, there's a kids corner! So teenagers, twenties and treenagers move and make place for the real kids!! A paradise for sure as they can have face make up by an experienced make-up artist.
Needless to say you should be there!

Le Fab Marcel de Bruxelles
Singlets are hip! A fashion label in Brussels knows this, so they made their own fabulous collection of these essential basic singlets, or a Marcel as they call it!
Take a look at their website www.fabuleuxmarcel.be and see how lovely this fashion brand is.
It seems 'Marcel' is a real success, the collection is for sale in worlds most famous boutiques: Colette’ in Paris or ‘Isetan’ in Tokyo..

From April 3th till June 13th the S.M.A.K. will be exhibiting the artwork of the American artist Ed Templeton. The opening of the show titled The Cemetery of Reason, took place last Friday evening. We were not the only visitors for the opening, it was a crowded house at the S.M.A.K. The audience tried to navigate through the story of a pro skateboarder, a photographer, a drawer, a painter, etc ..
Templeton mainly documented his own life and those of the people around him. The show exposes naked photos, young people doing naughty things and provocative imagery. I think skateboarders like the naked truth...
I would thoroughly recommend a visit to this show!
