The next generation... they have other things on their mind then the political chaos in our country. Flemish or French, it doesn't matter, they have their own supreme language in their kingdom!

a new pop-up bar in Gent...Pop-up?Yes you heard me pop-up, this venue is located in a formal Greek restaurant. The owner wants to tear down the building in a few months. So, some guys came with the idea to have a bar inside it for 6 weeks...
Yesterday night was the grand opening. More then 150 people were attending this opening on facebook. As you can see the temporary personality of this concept works.. everyone wants to say that they've been there. And I think everyone was there... it was crowded and hot inside, it made it a real hotspot.

Democrazy presents: MOS DEF
A non photography related post, but truly worth mentioning: Mos Def in the Vooruit! An artist I already follow since the nineties presented his new release 'the ecstatic'.
Critics love saying today's hiphop is devoid of substance and creativity. Mos Def refutes this on all fronts!! He brought a 'supermagic' show that breathed poetry.
A gracious Mos appeared on stage after 15 minutes of beautiful Fela Kuti sounds. After dropping some amazing J.Dilla jewels I got ecstatic.. time for one of my favorite tracks of the moment: R.O.S.E.S. of Georgia Anne Muldrow, which Mos remixed for his latest album.
When I'm down, I just draw some roses
On a pretty piece of paper
With my recipe oooooooooooo-pen
So halfway through, I feel so much better
I imagine happiness, and it runs right to me, such amazing beauty
You don't have to , cut up no roses
Please just leave them living
Got my pencil, got pretty paper

From April 3th till June 13th the S.M.A.K. will be exhibiting the artwork of the American artist Ed Templeton. The opening of the show titled The Cemetery of Reason, took place last Friday evening.
We were not the only visitors for the opening, it was a crowded house at the S.M.A.K. The audience tried to navigate through the story of a pro skateboarder, a photographer, a drawer, a painter, etc ..
Templeton mainly documented his own life and those of the people around him. The show exposes naked photos, young people doing naughty things and provocative imagery. I think skateboarders like the naked truth...
I would thoroughly recommend a visit to this show!
