My coffee tastes like autumn

Macchiato, chocolate pie and more coffee.  Well hello autumn!  Perfect time to check out some hot spots in Ghent!

* Ycono:

A cosy breakfast - lunch - coffee place in the beautiful  premise in the 'uhm' red light district.  Besides the food and drinks you can also buy some design objects and furniture.

* Clouds in my coffee:

In the Dampoort area, between all the pita places you can find a new breakfast- lunch - coffee bar.  The owners are the same owners of I/OBJECT, an online concept store offering nice design and interior objects.   The interior of clouds in my coffee is obviously stunning.

Drinking coffee in Scandinavian style

Before my Nordic trip I buried myself in travel guides and the internet what to do and see and.. to satisfy my love of coffee I tried to find out what the best coffee spot was of my destination.

And you would think Scandinavian countries have no coffee culture?  Ok, Starbucks is almost entirely absent,  but Norway and Sweden rank in the top 5 of the world coffee consumption, according the International Coffee Organization.

So.. all we did was drinking coffee ^^

Oslo:

* Tim Wendelboe:
It is a micro roastery, a coffee training centre and an espresso bar located in Grünerløkka, the 'soho' of Oslo.

* Litteraturhuset:
Books, coffee and food ..  all in one gorgeous building.  Gotta love it!

* Kafé Caffé:
Perfect place for a good coffee and a vegetarian lunch at a reasonable price!

* Apent Bakeri:
Locals say Apent Bakeri has the best bread of Oslo.  This hands-on Bakery is located at several locations in Oslo.

Kristiansand:

* Frk Larsen:
We didn't expect this trendy, retro-chic place in a city like Kristiansand.  At night this place turns into a disco - cocktail - concert bar.

Bergen:

* Bar Barista:
Bergen is cosy city with many places worth sitting down enjoying a coffee.  On our way up the Fløyen mountain we had a coffee in Bar Barista, a very nice and somehow kitsch place.

Stockholm:

I would highly recommend going to Södermalm. Drink your coffee in a trendy, young and bohemian café.

* Café String:
Together with your latte, you can buy the table or the chair you're sitting in.  Despites the arty attitude, it's a great place to simply sit and people watch on the terrace! This café is located in the Sofo area.  Correct, also Stockholm has it's Soho copy.

 * Kärlek &Mat:
At Kärlek & Mat we had our last breakfast of the holiday.  You can find this place in Hammarby Sjöstad, a new district in Stockholm.  It is a café, restaurant, a catering service and a store where you can buy all kind of fine food products.
