Somewhere

And the winner is... Somewhere!!  That was the echo that reverberated last week in Venice.  Sofia Coppola won Venice film festival's top award with her new movie 'Somewhere'.  If you don't know who Sofia Coppola is, you've probably spend the last years on the moon or something...  The Sofia Coppola, daughter of director Francis Ford Coppola, directed great movies as the Virgin Suicides (1999, gotta love that soundtrack Air made for this movie) and Lost in Translations (2003, waaauw this jewel of a movie has been crowned with an Oscar).  She also made the movie Marie-Antoinette, but I haven't seen it yet.  Some have said this film is entirely eye candy others said it's too much rock and roll for Marie-Antoinette.  Anyhow, I'm so looking forward to her newest project 'Somewhere'.

Storyline :
A hard-living Hollywood actor re-examines his life after his 11-year-old daughter surprises him with a visit. The dad is none other than Stephen Dorff and the daughter will be performed by rising star Elle Fanning.  Phoenix, Sebastien Tellier, the Strokes, ...   Do I need to say more?  Expectations are high, so give us a nice Christmas gift on the screen Sofia (the movie is scheduled for release in December).

And besides writing and directing movies Sofia Coppola has a fashion line as well, Milkfed inc.
