Ibiza... the other island

Eivissa… known as a party hot spot for Brits, has more to offer than Eurotrash beats. I visited the other island: hidden beaches, great hikes, delicious food, beautiful sunsets….

Amante a restaurant at Cala Llonga, in a stunning setting between the rocks and they serve suberb food!

Some bay near Es Portitxol: after a hike of 40 minutes down you will find one of the most hidden spots to have a swim between the cliffs of the beautiful north. The only way to access the water is climbing some rocks.

La Paloma, my favorite restaurant in Ibiza, they serve organic and soulful Mediterranean food in the middle of the island.

There are many beaches and even more beach bar's around the island. But this easy going bar Aiyanna is my favorite one. Positioned on the shores of Cala Nova this little sister of the restaurant Amante opened recently it's doors in June 2017

Sunsets in Ibiza are iconic, at golden hour almost the whole island watches the sun goes down. At Experimental beach every sunset seems like magical, right in heart of the Ses Salines salt flats.

Bonjour, s'il vous plaît, merci… Paris is always a good idea!

Bonjour, s'il vous plaît, merci… Paris is always a good idea!

Yesterday's whereabouts: the awesome quartier Le Marais in Paris.  This trendy and beautiful area of Paris mixes the old with the new, hip with tradition and fashion with food.  It's like a lively little town in a big city! A very interesting fact: The shops are open on Sundays in Le Marais!!

Activity of the day: shopping and window shopping, drinking coffee and enjoying 12 hours of Paris.

Shop of the day:

There are tons of great spots in Le Marais, but this one is my favorite:  Simonne & Lisa B. Between some art galleries and designer studios you can find this very nice boutique. Entering this shop is like entering a world of fresh young designers.

oh so mine: ring from Clara Jasmine

My coffee tastes like autumn

Macchiato, chocolate pie and more coffee.  Well hello autumn!  Perfect time to check out some hot spots in Ghent!

* Ycono:

A cosy breakfast - lunch - coffee place in the beautiful  premise in the 'uhm' red light district.  Besides the food and drinks you can also buy some design objects and furniture.

* Clouds in my coffee:

In the Dampoort area, between all the pita places you can find a new breakfast- lunch - coffee bar.  The owners are the same owners of I/OBJECT, an online concept store offering nice design and interior objects.   The interior of clouds in my coffee is obviously stunning.

Drinking coffee in Scandinavian style

Before my Nordic trip I buried myself in travel guides and the internet what to do and see and.. to satisfy my love of coffee I tried to find out what the best coffee spot was of my destination.

And you would think Scandinavian countries have no coffee culture?  Ok, Starbucks is almost entirely absent,  but Norway and Sweden rank in the top 5 of the world coffee consumption, according the International Coffee Organization.

So.. all we did was drinking coffee ^^

Oslo:

* Tim Wendelboe:
It is a micro roastery, a coffee training centre and an espresso bar located in Grünerløkka, the 'soho' of Oslo.

* Litteraturhuset:
Books, coffee and food ..  all in one gorgeous building.  Gotta love it!

* Kafé Caffé:
Perfect place for a good coffee and a vegetarian lunch at a reasonable price!

* Apent Bakeri:
Locals say Apent Bakeri has the best bread of Oslo.  This hands-on Bakery is located at several locations in Oslo.

Kristiansand:

* Frk Larsen:
We didn't expect this trendy, retro-chic place in a city like Kristiansand.  At night this place turns into a disco - cocktail - concert bar.

Bergen:

* Bar Barista:
Bergen is cosy city with many places worth sitting down enjoying a coffee.  On our way up the Fløyen mountain we had a coffee in Bar Barista, a very nice and somehow kitsch place.

Stockholm:

I would highly recommend going to Södermalm. Drink your coffee in a trendy, young and bohemian café.

* Café String:
Together with your latte, you can buy the table or the chair you're sitting in.  Despites the arty attitude, it's a great place to simply sit and people watch on the terrace! This café is located in the Sofo area.  Correct, also Stockholm has it's Soho copy.

 * Kärlek &Mat:
At Kärlek & Mat we had our last breakfast of the holiday.  You can find this place in Hammarby Sjöstad, a new district in Stockholm.  It is a café, restaurant, a catering service and a store where you can buy all kind of fine food products.
